A great little race, with a lot of history, brought to you by the same folks who put on the Run Through Time every summer. Hope you can make it! This is a CBRR Points Series event!
Run is postponed until Saturday Mar 12th because of likelihood of snowstorm. All details remain the same.

Peter Hanna has been the perennial winner in the 70-79 category, but is getting some stiff competition these days! For the full story and more photos, check out the post on cbtriathlon.wordpress.com
Thanks to John Hudec for this news:
1)Child and Parent Ski Lessons Starting the week of February 14th there will be cross country ski lessons available for children aged 8-11 who bring along a parent to learn and have fun with them on the snow. Equipment can be supplied or you can bring your own. The program will run for four weeks with the cooperation of the weather. The first two weeks will be on the flat terrain of Lingan Golf Course. The next two weeks will take place at Seaview Golf Course where the terrain will allow participants to test their skills on more rolling terrain. The program will start at 4:30 with equipment available at 4:00 PM. Sessions will end between 5:30 and 6:00 depending on conditions. The registration cost for this family opportunity is $60 per child with parent. If interested call John Hudec at Cape Breton University (902) 563-1982 or email John_hudec@CBU.ca 2) Formation of a Cape Breton Regional Municipality Nordic Ski Club The benefits of such a club might be numerous including access to groomed trails for classic and skate skiing; programming for adults, children and youth; events and equipment. If interested in participating in a discussion about club formation or joining a club please contact John Hudec at (902)563-1984 or email john_hudec@cbu.ca Volunteers are critical to the success of both these opportunities. If you like to spend time outdoors teaching, skiing or grooming trails we would welcome your involvement. Please make contact as described above. Funding for these active opportunities has been provided by grants from A Regional Development Grant: Cape Breton Region: Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness Sport Nova Scotia: Canada Games Legacy Equipment Fund if we haven't already met. I am Cyril MacDonald, and have taken on the title of Race Director for the 5th Annual Long John John Jaunt. In case you aren't aware, registration is now open (click link at right), and if you register before midnight Saturday, you will be able to take advantage of the early bird pricing. Some of you have already registered, and I greatly appreciate you doing so early, but for those that haven't and intend to run, it would be great if you could soon. I look forward to seeing you all on race day, and if for what ever reason you are unable to run, but would like to stay involved, I could certainly use a few extra hands on race day. Have a great day, and Happy Running! Cyril MacDonald |
