Yo Barbarians - it's house crawl time! Saturday Nov 1st. Come out and shake a leg on the dance floor to the music of DJ Jazzy James. Details of times and route are on the CB Barbarians Facebook site, or email me. This party is a HOOT! Don't miss it. The Barbarian of the Year is to be crowned at the end of the evening.
Thinking about a triathlon in 2015 or beyond? Need a great way to cross-train through those running injuries? Need an off-season sport to add to your repertoire?
The CB Crustacea is Cape Breton's master's swim team. This is a great group of over 70 people who swim for fun, fitness, personal goals, or for triathlon. Whatever your reason, you'll have a blast. If you can already swim a length of front crawl, you're OK to start with the main group. See above under "swimming" for details. If you have trouble doing a length, then the beginner's program is for you. Click below for details. Yo Barbarians
The Barbarian of the Year award will be 5 years old this year. Who will join previous winners Paul MacKenzie, Mike Morrison, Karen Campbell-Corey Deveaux, and Lisa MacKenzie as the next to rise to the pinnacle of Barbarianness (if that's a word)? It's up to you to decide!! The criteria for this award are purposely loose. Basically, it goes to a Barbarian who has done something special to stand out this year, either as a swimmer, biker, runner, triathlete, organizer, or general awesome human being. Nominees this year are Stephanie Myles, Allan MacKenzie, George Jessen, Colette Smith, and Kathy Sparling. An online vote has been set up. Click HERE to vote. Thanks to Lisa MacKenzie for organizing this. There are limited spaces for the Maritime Runners Summit. They will be offered to all Fiddlers Run participants on a first come basis. The $25 registration fee is waived. Register at Webscorer.
