We are about to start another season of Crustiness. Looking forward to getting back in the pool with all y’all.
The Coast Guard pool is not on time with renos and it will be after Xmas before they open. So our schedule this year will start at Kiwanis. To begin, we’ll have the same schedule as last year: Monday evening 8-9 Tuesday evening 8-9:30 (that’s after running for those of you planning to do “Big Workout Tuesdays”) Thursday evening 8-9 Sunday morning 8-10 Fees for this year: Full year: 240 returning members, 265$ new members. (if paid separately or part year) Sept-Dec 110 returning members, 126 old new members. Jan-June 155 returning members, 175 new members There is no fee for CGC cadets. I’ll put in my little sales pitch - preaching to the converted for most of you, but you can forward this to your friend or spouse who is thinking about swimming but not sure. Swimming is a great lifelong sport (one of the few sports with a 100-and-over division at the world championships). It has a large fitness component but also a technique component. It’s a great upper body workout (are you listening cyclists and runners?). It’s mainly a winter sports (when our cycling and running is generally quieter). And lastly, it’s a great way to cross-train if you are prone to lower body aches or injuries when your run or cycle exclusively. Please email me back if you want in for this year. Please feel free to get in touch for more details if you need them. Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested. Looking forward to another year with a great bunch of people!! In celebration of our first night of swimming, we’ll do a beer night on Monday. A goggles and bathing suit order is going in, they will be for sale once they arrive.
