3/2/2019 Louisbourg Slush Run kicks off the year Mar 2, with Long-John Jaunt to follow on Mar 9thRead NowFrom the same folks who bring you the Louisbourg Run Through Time, the Slush Run has now been a fixture of the CBRR schedule for over 30 years.
This year great weather blessed the runners, and brought out a good crowd of nearly 50 including a number of walkers. It had been a long time since our last race, as early winter and weather gods who seemed intent on making racing impossible had conspired to cancel the Pursuit Run and James Delorey. Congrats to everyone who ran, and to top 3 men Justine Lalanne, Corey Deveaux, and Allan MacKenzie, and top 3 women Rebecca MacNeil, Erin Forsey, and Laura Doucette. A big thanks to Cindy and Calvin and all the great folks who have made the small community of Louisbourg a hub of running here in NS. Thinking of the run through time, this year is the 25th anniversary. The course has been changed to start and end in the fortress. There is a party with a great band planned for after the race. It's going to sell out so register early!!! The Long John Jaunt, brought to you by Cyril MacDonald and his crew, is next week at the Boularderie School on Ross Ferry Road. There is a15K option as well as the half marathon (21.1K). Hope to see you there!
